Earth and Sky: March 10 - 16
Daylight Savings Time began yesterday when we turned clocks ahead one hour. We begin our week with less sleep and a Void-of-Course Moon, so Monday morning may be a bit challenging as we rush to get out of the house and start the day.
The planets Mercury, Venus and Jupiter are all visible in the morning sky this month. Venus highlights the week as it forms aspects to Saturn and Pluto. Mercury and Venus change signs this week and move into sensitive Pisces. Our feelings can be stirred and we can be impressionable with these two in Pisces, believing what we want to believe. However, by the end of the week Saturn comes along with a “reality check.”
Saturn has been in a trine to Pluto, which could help bring about necessary change. Along with a sextile between Jupiter and Uranus these aspects could make us really want something new and different now, in our personal life as well as in the world. One of the things we come to terms with this week is how to implement the needed changes and improvements.
Palm Sunday brings relationships into harmony when Venus trines Mars. It’s a great day to get out and socialize. The Cancer Moon trines the Sun at 1 pm and then goes Void-of-Course until 7 pm when it moves into Leo. Go with the flow during the afternoon; don’t push things. The warm and outgoing Leo Moon brings a need for enjoyment and creative self expression. Dress up in your own unique style tonight. Monday is St. Patrick’s Day and you may begin to celebrate early and enjoy a good time.
Monday, March 10
Aries Moon is Void-of-Course (5 am to 10:15 am)
Moon moves into Taurus (10:15 am)
You may oversleep or find things not going as expected while getting ready to begin your day. After a rocky start, by 10:15 you are better able to settle into work and you may even find things flowing along rather nicely. That’s because the Moon makes four harmonious aspects throughout the day. A Taurus Moon likes peace and stability, while being left alone to work on what interests you.
Tuesday, March 11
Mars Sextile Saturn
Moon Square Chiron
The Moon says firmly planted in earthy and practical Taurus today. Mars in Cancer sextile Saturn retrograde in Virgo gives the ability to work hard with perseverance. This aspect with Mars and Saturn stays in effect through Saturday. It gives a desire for achievement along with the discipline necessary to stay focused as you work on concrete plans.
The Moon squares Chiron from 3:00 to 5 pm. During that time, you may get your feelings hurt or find that you hurt someone. Since you may be very focused on what you are doing today, you could be unaware or insensitive other people’s feelings.
Wednesday, March 12
Venus enters Pisces
Just before 5:00 pm today, Venus changes signs leaving Aquarius and enters the watery realm of Pisces. Venus corresponds to our feelings and our ability to connect to others. It is also an indicator of what we appreciate and value.
The influence of Venus in Pisces can bring sensitivity to your relationships. A tendency to fantasize or idealize someone is quite possible. Whereas Venus in Aquarius can be emotionally detached, when it is in Pisces the feelings are stirred as well as the imagination. Venus in Pisces is found in the birth charts of famous artists, movie stars and even politicians. These are people that project an image, illusion or an ideal that the public wants to believe.
Thursday, March 13
Venus Sextile Pluto
Venus in Pisces is sextile Pluto in Capricorn. This transit deepens the emotions and whatever you feel today will be intensified. Relationships of all kinds are important today. Someone could appear powerfully charismatic and magnetic. You may have the experience of having to deal with a powerful person in your life.
These two planets correspond to finances, values and resources. The aspect can have a stimulating effect on you to focus upon finances or whatever you feel is valuable. There may be a focused interest upon our global resources and investments.
Friday, March 14
Moon enters Cancer
Mercury enters Pisces
The Moon and Mercury are in water signs, which are emotional and sensitive. The Moon influences our behavior, and Mercury affects our thinking process. You may find yourself responding to life through emotions rather than reason. Sensitivities are heightened and Pisces is naturally impressionable. You may be inclined to follow ideas which draw you in emotionally and capture your imagination. Creative and imaginative thinking is heightened.
Saturday and Sunday, March 15 and 16
Venus opposite Saturn
Venus trine Mars
Moon enters Leo
On Saturday Venus in Pisces is opposite Saturn retrograde in Virgo. We may feel a sense of potential and possibilities but in the opposition to Saturn, this comes face to face with reality. Saturn is the planet of laws and limitations, and corresponds to the step by step process of hard work and determination to achieve your goal. Saturn in practical Virgo sees flaws and what needs improvement. It has been retrograde since December 19th, which indicates a need to back up and re-evaluate the structures that have defined your life. On a larger scale, as a nation we have been looking at the structure of our government. On a personal level, you may be taking a look at areas in your life that need improvement and how you can achieve what you want or need.
Venus corresponds to relationships as well as finances, and things we value, so we may be faced with a situation that restricts our finances or resources in some way.
Palm Sunday brings Venus in Pisces trine Mars in Cancer. This is a sensitive and harmonious combination and affects the way you relate to others. Be gentle and kind with each other, don’t force anything. It is a good day to relax and take it easy while socializing with friends. The Moon enters Leo at 7:00 pm which adds warmth and generosity to the mix.
